What Can I Do For Pain and Constipation From Pancreatic Tumor?

Posted By Sam (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) on 07/22/2015

Hi,

My dad has just been diagnosed with pancreatic tumor. We still don't know if its cancerous or not. The doctor is suggesting a biopsy or total removal of the pancreas. Hes in a lot of pain. We are still considering the options, can you please suggest what can we give him to help with the pain and the constipation? He is 68 years old.

Dear Sam,

I am so sorry to hear that your father is in pain and suffering with this.

Turmeric is great for pain. We often find it works as well as Ibuprofen. 1 teaspoon (or 4 capsules) 3 times a day. Some say it can be constipating. We have not found that to happen in our family, but for that reason, always take it with a glass of water.

Even better, if your Dad could take it in fresh (or even store bought if fresh is not an option) carrot juice, that would be something that may help with constipation and the tumor.

Please also look into castor oil packs. They help with pain, inflammation, and even some tumors. You would put it over the pancreas area. I would try that overnight. (But don't use a heating pad on an elderly person overnight. Perhaps a hot water bottle.)

Massaging castor oil into the lower abdomen may also help with the constipation.

Plenty of water is good for the pain and the constipation. Perhaps an alkalizing drink would even be better than plain water.

Please also look here to see what other ideas may work to ease the constipation. I am sure that constipation only makes the pain worse.

I hope you will find relief and healing for him.
