What Can I Do for Glossopharyngeal Neuralgia?

Posted By Julie (American Fork, Ut) on 09/18/2015

Hello, I was diagnosed this week with glossopharyngeal neuralgia. My attacks happen in the throat with eating or drinking anything! Landed me in the ER twice this week. Neurologists at our University have never treated this although they have heard of it. I am open to any suggestions. I met with a functional chiropractor yesterday. I am considering meeting with a highly trained neurosurgeon in the area. I would rather treat naturally, but I can't eat hardly. I muscle through the pain to get down two green drinks per/day. I have lost 10lbs + in a week. Not fun for sure. All these nerve diseases sound awful with no sure treatment plan! I am also taking anti-seizure med Tegretol. Using essential oils and taking vitamin E oil in my drinks. Anyone else with this condition found any relief or tricks on how to eat???

Thank you,

Julie
