What can I do for Cold Sweats Unrelated to Sickness

Posted By Fallenarches (North Of Boston) on 07/13/2015

Greetings: I've mentioned this to my primary care Dr.and he doesn't seem to know what's causing it: Every summer I am "attacked" by sweats: cold, clammy sweats. It happens during the heat waves but then it can happen when I'm in a cooler environment. The back of my neck gets wet, my face, chest, etc. At the same time I have a sense of suffocation. I am beyond menopause, take thyroid meds for hypothyroidism and 1/4 of an estrogen patch (a minute dose I've taken for years). The odd thing is, this has happened for the past 3 summers. Originally I saw my Dr.because I thought I had pneumonia. It's a very annoying problem, and I'm not someone who perspires easily; in the cooler weather I never sweat. I have to carry around something to fan myself with when the "sweats" come upon me. I'm hoping someone has a solution to this vexing situation.
