What Can Help Cpap Mask Irritation?

Posted By Pauline (Edinburgh, Scotland) on 06/16/2015

I wear a CPAP face mask at night to aid my sleep apena. I have noticed that I get red marks/spots around my mouth I have tried nappy cream, nipple cream, sudacreme, anti fungal, spot cream, coconut oil. Nothing works. Any ideas - apart from stop using the mask, which is not an option :). Thank you.

Have you tried organic Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)? Try swabbing the affected areas with a cotton ball soaked in a solution of 1 part ACV to 3 parts distilled water.

You also may need to clean you CPAP mask. Maybe with isopropyl alcohol? Find out from your doctor, who prescribed the CPAP, how to clean it.

Maybe too tight? Also clean mask daily with a gentle soap.
