Hi Sonia - It sounds like you may be gluten intolerant (or have celiac disease) if you are having digestive problems with wheat and cereals. Eliminate them from your diet completely and stick to more natural foods - organic fruits and vegetables (good for fiber too), organic meats (small amount if your diet is already too acidifying), etc. Start slowly - see how you feel when adding or subtracting foods from your diet. Try to be more pH balanced (more alkaline foods in your diet). Make sure you are properly hydrated.

Also, you mentioned that you can't take the thyroid pills the doctor prescribed (that may be why you are so tired), so try taking 3 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil per day - but start slowly to avoid stomach distress. For instance, start with 3 teaspoons throughout the day and work your way up to 3 tablespoons. Yoga is good exercise and may help you with fatigue and, from what I understand, some of the poses help stimulate the thyroid.

One reason why your hair may be thinning is that you aren't able to absorb the nutrients in your food due to your digestive problems. Is there a naturopath or holistic doctor you could see? Perhaps they could check you for increased intestinal permeability (leaky gut syndrome). Once you get your stomach under control, maybe the other problems will lessen or disappear because you will be able to absorb your vitamins and minerals.

Here are a few Earth Clinic pages for leaky gut syndrome, digestion and thyroid. Perhaps some of the remedies may help you.

Good luck Sonia - good digestion leads to good health. Take care, Bess

Hi Sonia,
Have you tried digestive enzymes taken with food? I was having similar problems and Medical Doc assumed I had acid reflux. Put me on terrible meds. After having horrible side effects I went to health food store and they recommended digestive enzymes. I started taking them and wow they really helped! I started researching enzymes. I found out that you can supplement with 2 types one is taken with food to help with food allergies and digestion. The other is called Systemic enzymes or pancreatic enzymes. They are enterically coated and taken on an empty stomach, they help with a ton of other things like uterine fibroids, fibrosis of any kind and inflamation of any kind! In my case arthritis in my feet and Jaw! A guy named Dr. William Wong is an expert on enzymes and explains it best on his site www.totalityofbeing.com. He has formulated his own that I have been taking for the past 7 months! He is my personal hero! I had crippling foot arthritis and serious stomach issues along with headaches, vertigo, and lack of energy. Within 4 days of taking his zymessence (systemic enzyme taken on empty stomach) And almost immediate results from taking digestive enzymes along with drinking aloe juice 3x per day before meals! I have more energy, no stomach pain/ constipation, no headaches, no arthritis pain, my cystic acne has cleared! I'm a 43 yr old Mom that can play tennis daily without pain or the need for afternoon nap! Good Luck to you! Best,
Cat

Sonia, I think you have both a magnesium and an iodine deficiency. As far as loose stools, many people have been able to stop that with Apple cider vinegar (1-2 tablespoons in water).

Cramps with bleeding is an indication of a magnesium deficiency as is low blood pressure.

Thyroid problems, fibroids and hair loss are related to iodine deficiency, even the tiredness.

For iodine you need to take Lugol's iodine (iodine and Iodide). Refer to iodine section on Earthclinic

For Magnesium it is better to use Magnesium chloride in bath water (a better way to get it absorbed in your body). You tube is also excellent for info.
