Was diagnosed as borderline diabetic

Posted By Robyn (Melbourne, Australia) on 10/04/2012

Dear Bill, I got this lab test back today, Dr. had little to say about it except I was borderline diabetic but when I look up ketosis it suggests fasting, dieting, low carb diet. I am allergic to grains, gluten, starch. But I eat plenty. I've put on weight, not lost it. Perhaps I just can't metabolise carbs. Then the rest, renal ammonia loading, low ATP production, all neurotransmitters are through the roof, the report says VERY stressed, (I've been in pain that morphine doesn't abate for 20 yrs, live in a car I'm so allergic, never have company not even on birthdays, xmas, I've been abandoned by everybody (except on here) no light at the end of the tunnel. I get bashed 20 times a day by chemicals - wouldnt you be stressed). I meditate and talk calm to myself but my body is stressed by chemicals.

Xylene exposure, glutathione wasting, intestinal bacterial overgrowth but no yeast or fungal. Any suggestions?

Dear Robyn, I know you are writing to Bill, but thought to add my two cents anyway! Praying for you.

Xylene can come from the dashboard of the car you live in, because when exposed to sunlight it off-gasses such toxins. I would start by definitely staying parked in the shade at all times, and using a dashboard cover.

Vit C absorbs and neutralizes toxins, as well as is quite helpful with a pre-diabetic condition, or so research said.

Arginine, and eating a bit of parsley daily, or juicing it, are good for excess ammonia. MSM Emergen-C Lite (diabetic version) is good for ATP production, though some other things may be better that I don't have experience with.

Just some suggestions of things you might try. Best wishes to your health! --T.

Dear Wayseeker, thank you. Im not in the sun. The pain is much worse and I think because of the addisons or just because Im so sensitive to everything it can make me vomit. I googled these results and besides arginine Ive already been taking the recommended ala, mg, coq10, probiotics, nac, lyphospheric C, glycine on and off. So I dont know if that means I should increase my dosage. Ive been thinking about the stress. Even if I got my mental stress down my body is still trying to cope with whats on this lab test the addisons the metal toxicity the viral invasion. I thought Id just mention they test for 8 gut bacteria. Indican is the candida?? I only have 1 - tricarballylate.

Hi Robyn... From what you describe, part of you problem seem to be related to low levels of essential anti-oxidants in your body. This gives rise to a low or compromised immune system and may be the main reason why you are so allergic and hypersensitive. See this research article. The main anti-oxidants produced by the body are glutathione and superoxide dismutase. These two antioxidants greatly strengthen, support and boost the immune system against damaging free radicals and toxins. The way to increase SOD would be to supplement Mangenese (the central metallic atom for SOD).

One way to increase your low glutathione levels -- which seems to be a major problem for you -- would be to supplement selenium(200 mcg twice a day), cysteine(500 mgs twice day) -- these are the essential precursors that are necessary to make glutathione in the body. If your glutathione levels are down then it is also very likely that your homocysteine levels will also be low -- and this greatly reduces the effectiveness of your immune system. Glutathione also hugely supports the liver's functions. Without sufficient anti-oxidants to quell the ongoing free radical damage, inflammation and pain in your body this problem will be difficult to cure. The best and quickest way to increase your glutathione levels would be to have either cysteine or glutathione by IV periodically.

Taking Alpha Lipoic Acid at a dosage between 200 mgs - 400 mgs three times a day with meals may well help your painful neuropathies, ALA also reduces sugar levels in the blood which will help against the diabetes. ALA is also one of the finest anti-oxidants for removal of free radicals(that cause the inflammation and pain) because it is soluble in fats and water -- so has anti-oxidant action in both.

Excess ammonia levels in the blood means that the liver is not regulating urea properly. The liver normally converts excess ammonia to urea which is then excreted by the kidneys. So, if you have high ammonia levels, you should really get a proper liver check on your liver AST and ALT enzyme and albumin levels which is a direct measure of liver health. A hair analysis woud also be useful and would tell you if you have mineral imbalances or excess heavy metals in your body.

Your doctor has also diagnosed that you have bacterial infestations in your intestines but has said that you have no internal yeast/fungal infections ie candida. I am afraid that I don't really trust this diagnosis, since it is fairly well known that the medical profession is very poor at diagnosing as well as treating fungal problems like systemic or disseminated candida. To be absolutely sure about whether you have candida or not -- take this questionnaire, which will only take a few minutes to complete and is a far more accurate way of telling whether you have candida or not and wont cost you a thing:

http://www.flora-balance.com/candida_questionnaire_long.php

All doctors ever seem to look for are viral or bacterial causes for disease. What they forget is that Candida is a disease that is always associated with other pathogens such as viruses, bacteria and parasites. And blood tests as well as fecal tests are very poor methods for identifying candida infestation in the body. If you want to do a fairly simple test to see if you have candida -- then just look at your tongue in the mirror. If it is healthy and pink then perhaps you dont have candida -- but if it is white then the it is more than likely that you have, at the very least, intestinal candida or perhaps even systemic(body-wide) candida.

Bill thankyou, interestingly antioxidants came up OK but I take a lot of them The report also suggested taking manganese but my hair analysis shows me I'm poisoned with it aswell as with many other metals. I certainly have mineral imbalances as I have addisons. Blood tests dont show anything for my liver but saliva does. phase 1 too high, phase 2 too low for all pathways except sulfur. This lab test I got done myself. My doc looked at it for 2 min & told me I was borderline diabetic. He takes no interest in my health other than prescribing morphine. The lab tests for 8 acids in the gut and the one for candida is there. It just indicates it is normal, the same as just about everyone has. My tongue has been white for 20 yrs. I also read that that can be a compromised liver?? Yes, Ive done that questionnaire before but I would have thought everyone with fibro would tick yes to all those questions. Perhaps everyone with fibro has candida. thanks again.

Hi Robyn... I've been having a look and researching your neural pain problems and might have some useful information that can help.

First, I still think that you have candida -- probably the systemic form. As one of the symptoms, aldehyde hypersensitivities -- sensitivities to perfumes, aftershave etc -- is a known symptom of candida caused by excess aldehyde poisoning and poor clearance from the blood. Large amounts of aldehydes, alcohols and poisonous proteins are all excreted by candida in the intestines which are then directly absorbed into the blood. Due to perhaps diet deficiencies, overload and liver stress/insufficiencies your body seems to be inept at clearing these aldehyde poisons -- so this is what causes the hyppersensitivity reactions.

You also have sensitivity to Xylene -- a hydrocarbon. Xylene is also broken down to aldehyde in the body by the p-xlene hydroxilase enzyme. See this research:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28915

Therefore, the important pathway is the aldehyde detox pathway in the body. This involves the aldehyde oxidase enzyme in the body converting the aldehyde into acetic acid -- a useful substance which is further converted into energy via Coenzyme A in the NAD energy pathway.

So what if you had a deficiency of the aldehyde oxidase enzyme or a deficiency of coenzyme A? Aldehyde oxidase needs molybdenum as its central metallic atom to be produced in the body. Coenzyme A is made from pantethine and pantothenic acid. You may be defficient in all these minerals/nutrients.

For a clearly argued solution to this aldehyde hypersensitivity problem -- and to help you reduce your hypersensitivity to aldehydes and to perhaps reduce its painful neural effects by supplementing Molybdenum, Pantothenic Acid and Pantethine, read this article.

http://candidapage.com/aldehyde.shtml

Throughout the above article -- candida is also given as the main cause for these aldehyde hypersensitiviy problems.

I've also just found out that Molybdenum, as well as Iron, are both very needed in the liver for converting ammonia to urea for normal excretion through the urine. Molybdenum and iron are also required to manufacture a normally abundant body enzyme called xanthin oxidase in order to convert ammonia to urea. See this article:

http://www.arthritistrust.org/Articles/Molybdenum for Candida albicans Patients.pdf

Therefore the above articles would seem to provide a solution for many of the neural and ammonia related problems that you currently have and so taking higher daily dosages of Molybdenum, together with Pantethine and Pantothenic acid might well help you to correct these problem and reduce the pain. And supplementing Molybdenum would also help to kill the candida.

Thank you. Moly & pantethine had been suggested to me before. I noted moly was low in my hair analysis so I got to it with no improvement. I found out much later it is harder to find moly to buy in proper amounts - it was a very low dosage. So now I have a much higher dosage & I'll start again. Also drinking red wine every night for over 15 yrs to dampen the pain as I had no idea what could go on internally and none of the expensive or cheap practitioners I went to drs. or naturopaths ever said anything must have really helped a lot. Im allergic to the preservatives for one, alcohol Im sure and just perfect to feed candida. Bye for now.

Robyn, I had the ammonia symptom. My doctor was too stupid to know it was fatty liver disease (NAFLD). I took Milk Thistle with artichoke in the supplement (artichokes scrub the liver). Also, I ordered lots of dark green leafy salads with extra artichokes. I drank dandelion tea. I'm sure Bill's detailed explanation of energy pathways is more correct, but this is what cleared my liver and the ammonia. Also, coconut capsules are great too.
