Wake Up With Blurry Vision A Lot - Please Suggest RemediesPosted By mike v (brooklyn, ny) on 03/30/2023
Ophthalmologist says there is nothing wrong with my eyes, tests are done and she says they are ok, slightly dry but good. I wake up with blurry vision a lot, sometimes severe.I am thinking maybe a tumor. Maybe supplements I can take? it's driving me nuts

Your ophthalmologist should have told you that with dry eyes it is typical if not normal to have drier eyes upon awakening because while you sleep you mostly do not blink and this can result in the tear glands becoming more blocked and the natural oil layer from the tear fluid dissipates all resulting in drier eyes upon awakening. It might be worth trying something like this before jumping to conclusions. If it resolves your issue, then your ophthalmologist maybe correct that there is nothing wrong but dry eyes.

Another consideration is Maqui Berry extract as it has shown in two studies to help dry eyes and eye fatigue and is available in capsules which is simpler at one a day. Here is a link to a study discussing it :

Here is a relevant study quote :
' The MB group demonstrated a significantly higher lacrimal fluid production in both eyes (increased 6.4 ± 8.1 mm, P = 0.005) in Schirmer's test compared to the P group before VDT load (playing a video game) at 4 weeks after intake. In the VAS method after VDT load, the reduction of subjective symptoms in eye fatigue (P = 0.047) and stiff shoulders (P = 0.035) were significantly higher in the MB group than in the P group as well as bothersome ocular symptoms (P = 0.037) by the DEQS. No adverse events were reported. Thus, the consumption of 60 mg of MaquiBright® per day for 4 weeks reduced eye dryness and seemed to alleviate eye fatigue. '

1 cup of water every waking hour with a pinch of salt under the tongue thrown in a few times.
People think they hydrate but they seldom do. Plain water. Not any of the designer, spiked water stuff. No matter how "healthy" it might seem. If you need supplements, put them in your food or take a tablet but drink plain water.

This a generic advice. Not based on a personal experience. See an ophthalmologist or a neuro-optometrist ASAP. It was a neuro-optometrist who diagnosed me with a very complex autoimmune condition, not a neurologist. He ran a paraneoplastic panel. When eyes are involved there’s more to the picture. Eye doctors are trained to recognize neurological and autoimmune conditions when eyes problem is part of the picture. Make sure it is a good eye doctor. Reed google reviews.
