Dear Brandy,

Until you can get get further treatment, here is what I would do. Hopefully you have these things at home or would be able to get them.

If he is allowed to bathe (get the foot wet) I would first soak it in warm water and epsom salt. (a large bowl with 1/2 cup epsom salt and water very warm) for 20 minutes. If you don't have or cannot get epsom salt, you could use table salt instead, but epsom would be better.

Then spray or pour hydrogen peroxide on it. (If you don't have any, this would be under a dollar at a dollar store or drug store.)

Put honey (raw if possible) on the infected area and cover with a clean bandage.

I would do all of the above 2-3 times a day.

I would have him drink plenty of water and take garlic as a natural antibiotic. If you have fresh garlic, 1 clove, chopped, on some toast with butter or honey, 4 times a day. If you do not have fresh garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder 4 times a day instead. It isn't going to taste great, but it is very inexpensive and hopefully you have some at home.

I hope he gets relief soon. Please let me know how he is doing.
