These kids need to drink plain milk and plain water only!
No sodas, no cordials, no milk shakes, no fruit juice as they are all high in sugar and have no fibre!
The sugar in milk (lactose)is fine for the body! There is a video that you can watch by Robert H Lustig M.D.giving a lecture in San Francisco that goes for 89 minutes, you only need to watch the last twenty minutes for a full explanation.
My son 15 stopped all sugary drinks on 11.02.10 his cravings for sugary foods switched off immediately,he weighed himself on 25th Feb 10 and he had lost 4 kilos(8.8 pounds)he is continuing and will get weighed again on 11th March 10 I know it will be a positive result as I can see the change in him.
I have given up drinking wine as I also need to lose weight and I have also swopped my everday foods such as bread for a better bread, the lowest I could find in carbohydrates and sugar for a standard serve of 2 slices and the highest in fibre this advice and download is free google, belly fat cure carb swop.
I started eating this way on 08th Feb 10 and have lost 6 kilos (13.2 pounds)by yesterday morning 1st March 10

I would recommend eliminating wheat. If you are sensitive to it, it won't matter if it's whole wheat or white: you will still gain weight no matter how hard you try to exercise or "eat right. " I think wheat sensitivities (corn is also another potential culprit) are what make the South Beach Diet so successful, since dieters eliminate all grains in the first couple of weeks. Many people are sensitive (an IgG blood test will show it) and just don't know, since the symptoms for sensitivity are subtle.
