Two Month Old Infant Diagnosed With MRSA, No Symptoms

Posted By Katbhappy (Grass Valley, Ca) on 10/16/2015

My daughter's 2 month old son had his mouth swabbed because he had what mom worried was thrush. Had a little spot on tongue, but it went away when mom scraped it gently. Baby not having any problems, eating good and gaining weight, happy little feller. Breastfeeding.

The swab showed signs of MRSA...so weird, no symptoms. Should she get him tested again somewhere else? Should she use something natural to clear him of it even though he doesn't have any outward symptoms? Puzzled and a bit concerned grandma.

Dear Katbhappy,

Did they prescribe anything for it?

Turmeric is great for MRSA. Since he is breastfeeding, mom could take it and baby would get some passed along through feeding. In our house, adults take 1/2 -1 teaspoon worth 2-3 times a day for infection, always with plenty of water.
