Trying to avoid antibiotics and root canal

Posted By Cindy (Usa) on 01/06/2015

It is with a very troubled mind that I am here now writing this post. today I had my regular every 6 month dental cleaning done, they also did exrays as they do every few years. The hygienist barely got started with the cleaning and took another xray and asked if I was having any problems. I said not any, why? she said I had a fistula on a molar and my dentist said I should have a root canal done asap and he aslo wants me to start antibiotic (amoxicillin) now.

I had no idea anything was going on because I was not having pain. Reluctantly I made the appointment for the root canal to be done but have to wait till February 3,15 to get in for it. I don't plan to fill the antibiotic till Friday when I get back to town. Years ago I had all my mercury filling removed and root canal teeth pulled out after reading hal huggins book. I am also quite sensitive to some metals that had been in my fillings. I feel a root canal is only asking for trouble down the line and do not want to have it. The only way I may have to giv.e in and do it is to "save" the tooth as it is part of a bridge! And can a person even think the antibiotic will get to the tooth root to kill the bacteria? so I am asking for any help or advise for anything else I can do to try and avoid either the antibiotic and/or the root canal. I thank you in advance and apologize for the length of this post.

C: Some healthcare providers are tempted to increase their profits by incorporating "alarmist" or "scare" tactics to patients. This exact event occurred w/ me as far back as a decade ago but my suspicion was alarmed more than anything else as I too had no pain.

As for a local infection like in the mouth, you can swish Povidone Iodine drops in water for a few minutes daily, or swish Colloidal Silver the same.

My last bout with antibiotics I came very close to having a heart attack, I was being treated for some sort of infection, but it turned out to be a fungal virus. Now I go to a holistic P.C.P. and I stay away from conventional meds. as much as possible. My P.C.P. recently gave me a script for high cholesterol. I left the script.right in the drug store and found the best thing to take is elderberries.

I usually take 2 teaspoons of turmeric for any type internal infection or abscess for about three days and it goes away.
