Tinnitus and Bad Teeth - Connection?

I have loose implants and broken teeth exposing metal fillings. Chemo made it worse and teeth grinding. My question is would this cause tinnitus?

Hi Shelly,

Yes, teeth problems can cause tinnitus, especially the closer the tooth is to the ear as the nerves in that area can be adversely affected. The teeth grinding can also be a problem. A brux guard can be helpful for the teeth grinding.

Dear Shelly,

Yes, I would not doubt a connection between bad teeth and tinnitus. I believe my TMJ issues affect my tinnitus. You mentioned chemo? I find that many over the counter meds (tylenol, ibuprofen, and benadryl) all make my tinnitus worse.

It's not a cure, but I do wear noise cancelling earbuds in situations where loud noises (loud musical instruments, crowds etc) make it so my tinnitus is practically painful. Its like the noise slams into my eardrums.
