Need Help for Tingling Hand

Posted By GertJr (Madison) on 09/17/2022

You know how you hit your funny bone and it tingles? My whole hand is doing this every time I grasp something. Not even just a pincer-type grasp, but a whole hand grasp of a cooking spoon. I can't stir the food in the pot, wipe my backside, write with a pencil very long, etc all because, when I grasp something, my hand tingles. I have had carpal tunnel release surgery and this hand was doing this before it and now, again, after. What can I do? It's driving me batty.

Try applying a soft ice pack to the neck down to between the shoulder blades 3 times per day for 3 days. In between the icing applications, apply Stopain Roll on to the same area as the ice pack. If you notice benefit within those three days, there is likely an impinged nerve in that area.

Dear Gertjr,

My husband has had some nerve issues in his arm and hand from repetitive work he does.

I use the internet to try and figure out which nerve is affected then I look for stretches and exercises for him to do to release the nerve. This has worked several times. It also worked for me for an issue I had in my arm.

And I agree with Art about the ice and the StopPain roll on.

I use both regularly to relieve pain and inflammation.

Thanks, MMtoM and Art, I've been icing for over a month now. Never tried the topical pain relief so will add that. I usually do yoga and Qi Gong stretching every morning before I work out (lift weights alternating with swimming 6 days, Sunday's off). I may have over-stretched something, so I'll keep the stretching but not too strenuous. I've been dealing with this for quite awhile and it's getting old. I can't hold the phone, steering wheel, etc without going numb. Thanks for the suggestions.

Greetings Gert,

I pray you are feeling great today. regarding your post, if you would like to try a supplement, I suggest Serrapeptase. When limbs go numb, serrapeptase has stood out among the rest for me. As long as electrolytes are up to par, Serrapeptase is the next thing I use when it comes to numbness and carpel tunnel. And yes, I do take my B vitamins. I have used Serrapeptase several years now. I do skip it for a few days, but it doesn't seem to cure me, it just temporary restores circulation. Stretches are what I need to do, then maybe between the two, the cure will happen.

I did as Mama suggested and found a video about 'nerve flossing', which I have been doing several times a day since watching it. It seems to help, as I don't have as much numbness until late morning as I did. It seems that there's some raynaud's going on, as well, as my fingers go white. I've had that in the past, when my hands are cold, but never when it's hot like now. I'll try some serrapeptase. I used to take it and don't really know why I stopped. Seems like I take a lot. I've been taking shilajit for the B vitamins, seems to work better than the b's I was taking before. I also take lecithin and omega fish oil for cholesterol, which should also help with nerves. Seems like it's fine until that one event (usually wiping my backside) and then it's active all day. I'm trying to learn to use the other hand.
