Thyroid and Leg Cramping Help Requested

Posted By GertJr (Madison) on 06/21/2021

For some time now I have been requesting suggestions for dealing with my leg and foot cramps. Nothing has worked. I did a search for cramping like this with regard to various conditions. Thyroid, which runs in my family, was a top return. Looking at the thyroid symptoms list, I have well over 1/4 of them for hypothyroid. I didn't realize, but my facial tics that started in the last year are also part of it. so, what to do? I started taking iodorol, 12.5 mg, once a day. Right away I could tell the brain fog was better. Thank you to all who made suggestions as to the cramping, but now please also suggest things for thyroid. I am not inclined to see dr's for many things, but should I? My family dr is not inclined to do more than basic bloodwork, but should I insist on the more sensitive labs? If so, then what next? If I can do things on my own, that is my preferred option. Docs should be a last resort.

GertJr,

If you actually do have a hypothyroid condition you might check into zinc in a bioavailable form such as zinc picolinate or gluconate.

GertJr,

I forgot to mention that the zinc can also be helpful for cramping.

Thanks, Art, but I've been taking zinc for years. I've tried everything, believe me.
