Terrible Menstrual Cycle

Posted By Kathryn (College Station, Texas) on 09/05/2022

I've been dealing with terrible cramps and crazy heaving bleeding and clotting for a couple years now but it's progressively gotten worse. I've gotten tests to look for cysts and fibroids and those were both negative. I keep getting told to go on birth control after specifically mentioning that's something I am not open to doing. I'm at a loss and I don't know where to go from here. Are there any home remedies for terrible cramps, heavy clotting and blood flow? I feel like I've tried all the medicines and nothing seems to be working. The doctors aren't listening to me and just think I'm being dramatic when I've known pain and I know my body but I know for a fact that SOMETHING is off.

Kathryn, things that have helped family members are: Oregano tea (just use the spice if you want), Sage tea (can also use spice), and Blackstrap Molasses. It seems to me that Shepherd's Purse also helps, but read up on that.

I meant the tea made from the spice. Pour boiling water over the sage or oregano, steep and drink. One or two cups a day.

Castor oil soaks took care of my horrible cramping and menstrual pain. I did it for one hour each day except during menstrual cycles. You can find instructions under Remedies under Castor Oil here on Earth Clinic. After awhile I didn’t even feel it coming. I hope this helps you.

It should be better known that calcium deficiency can cause these signs, because it's so debilitating.

Calcium is maligned, but it is essential, and its deficiency can result in muscle and nerve dysfunction. It's also involved with proper blood clotting.

Careful with excess phosphorus, it will interfere with calcium function.

Good point Connie.

If calcium is supplemented along with Vitamin K, D, A, boron, magnesium, zinc + copper then it will be used properly by the body and not calcify parts that shouldn't be calcified. You'll want to make sure you have high vitamin d levels (get lab tested). If not, supplement the above until levels increase. Vitamin K is so important. Vitamin D levels may not increase despite high dose supplementation without boron. Borax is the perfect boron supplement.

I'd also like to add Shepard's Purse tincture. It will slow down any heavy bleeding, and works very well for eliminating heavy menstrual bleeding.
