Will Swimming in Pool Help or Hinder Grover's Disease Rash?

Posted By Terri (Northeast Florida) on 08/12/2016

I was just diagnosed with GD yesterday after intense itching and sleepless nights for over a month. It took weeks for any type of rash to show up and it is isolated to my torso. I was wondering if any one has any knowledge of how swimming in a chlorinated pool might help or hinder?

Hi, Terri. I was diagnosed by biopsy with Grover's Disease in July. We have a swimming pool at our home and I'd been swimming daily since the beginning of June. I don't know how much it contributed to my outbreak, but my rash appeared sometime early June, and with the heat progressively got worse until I was diagnosed in mid July. My doctor recommended not swimming.
