Struggling and need help please for phlebitiscellulitis

Posted By Sue (Lancashire England) on 03/13/2014

Hello

I am struggling with Phlebitis / Cellulitis in my lower leg from the knee down. My Doctor said it was Phlebitis but I had small blisters on my leg.

It has been like this for nearly 12 months and after many Antibiotics from my Doctor . it had got a lot better but never completely gone. Still very discoloured but not red and angry looking.

It has now started again and I started taking the Lemon/ Baking Soda last Friday [ twice a day] , so I will have been on it for a week , tomorrow.

It has gone Red and inflamed and hot.

Yesterday I had pains in my leg but that has gone now.

What do you suggest I do.? Have I been taking it long enough or how long should I continue.? Should I try something else and if so , what.??

Please help as I went through last Summer unable to wear Summer clothes or go swimming and I do not want to have to do the same again this year.

Thankyou. Sue from England

Dear Sue,

I would continue the baking soda remedy solution and a few other things to your routine.

Charcoal poultices or chamomile poultices should help the inflammation and redness. You could try one or the other and see how it does. To make a charcoal poultice see this link:

To make a chamomile poultice, made a strong chamomile tea and soak a cloth in it and put it over the affected area.

Apply poultices for 30-60 minutes. You can use a charcoal poultice overnight.

I would also consider adding 1 Tablespoon of Blackstrap molasses to your diet once or twice a day.

Turmeric is excellent for inflammation. I would take 1 teaspoon (or 4 capsules) 2-3 times a day with plenty of water. You can mix this in some milk or water if you like.

If you can expose the area to sunlight daily, that would be great.

Cayenne pepper would be another good thing to try. You can mix 3/8 teaspoon in a glass of grape juice. It is spicy, but less likely to cause heartburn that taking capsules. (Though some do just fine with capsules. You could take one or two with food.)

I would continue whatever is helping until all symptoms are gone and even treat a little while past, just to be sure.

Let us know how it goes. I hope you are cured soon!
