Stomach Exercises Cause Ileocecal Valve (ICV) Pain

Posted By Marsh (Colorado) on 08/21/2021

About 5 years ago, an acupuncturist was feeling my left side after I was told by an anatomical massage therapist my discomfort was my ICV. She suddenly pushed extremelyv deep and painful leaving me breathless. I told her to stay away from it. Surprisingly she did it again with just as much force. Since then, there are bouts of discomfort that come and go. I finally realized that stomach exercises are what sets it off. Being in my 60s and physically fit, I'm having to work harder to maintain strength and flabbiness, and my stomach is starting to pooch out. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep exercises from annoying it or exercises that work but aren't strenuous? The acupuncture studio has this on record and I'm thinking of talking with an attorney but every doctor hasn't ever heard of such a thing.

Marsh, you might want to try the same exercises you normally do but quite toned down. As in less vigorous and less reps.

Or maybe these newfangled hypopressive exercises but way less extreme.

Or leaning back a bit when you sit, then sit straight. Repeat. This seems to be a mild core strengthener.
