Squamous cell carcinoma of tongue

Has anyone had a successful alternative treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue? Traditional methods of surgery, radiation, and chemo have not been successful. Open to recommendations. Thank you.

Annie,

Regarding squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue, melatonin has shown some benefit in studies and it has also shown synergy with chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Here are a few studies where it has been tested for this purpose :

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25323035/

Here is a relevant quote from the study:

>>> ' The MTT assay showed a decrease in cell viability in both cell lines, after the treatment with melatonin. The analysis of quantitative RT-PCR indicated an inhibition of the expression of the pro-angiogenic genes HIF-1α (P < 0.001) and VEGF (P < 0.001) under hypoxic conditions, and of the pro-metastatic gene ROCK-1 (P < 0.0001) in the cell line SCC9, after treatment with 1 mM of melatonin. ' <<<

Another relevant quote from the study :

>>> ' Melatonin may be a promising anticancer agent for the treatment of human tongue squamous cell carcinoma. ' <<<

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8468793/

A relevant quote from the study :

>>> ' This study proves that melatonin suppresses SCC-15 cells invasion and migration through blocking the FGF19/FGFR4 pathway, which enriches our knowledge on the anticancer effects of melatonin. Blocking the FGF19/FGFR4 pathway by melatonin could be a promising alternative for OSCCs prevention and management, which would facilitate further development of novel strategies to combat OSCCs. ' <<<

A relevant quote from this study :

>>> ' Melatonin may be a promising anticancer agent for the treatment of human tongue squamous cell carcinoma.'<<<

Curcumin, the active component derived from the spice, turmeric has also shown some potential against oral squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue as outlined in the following studies :

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29651934/

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29751146/

A relevant quote from the study :

>>> ' Curcumin treatment resulted in inhibition of PD-L1 and p-STAT3Y705 expression both in vitro and in vivo. Moreover, the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment was changed after curcumin treatment. These data suggested that curcumin could effectively promote anti-tumor immune response in TSCC. ' <<<

Given the information provided by these studies as well as the very good safety profile of melatonin, it may be worth discussing the use of melatonin with your oncologist as an adjuvant treatment to their planned treatment for you.

Good luck!

Annie,

I would add Graviola tea 2x a day and Pau de arco( to one of those a day.. can use prefilled capsules- to make the tea and it is naturally sweet.) to what ever I was doing there are other anti mutagenic things out there.. this is off top of head and have been useful in lung and intestinal cancers. and other internal issues of this sort.. you will need to use these and don't stop them so order plenty so you will have it on hand. No, I am not a Dr, just have been watching what worked for others ..

Hello,

Ohio State University, the dental program has done some testing with successful outcomes in oral cancer. They use pure extracts of blackberries in patches orally. The product they use is produce by a company, but I know Earth Clinic wants no brands mentioned. You can call the university. I know the name of the product and company, appears under resources of a book, called “Why Not Desserts”, Amazon sells the book. Last, don’t eat added table sugar, as it feeds cancer cells and have you tried apricot seeds? Good luck in your healing journey.

P.S. Fruits and vegetables are good to fight infections and other problems.

My husband and I have both successfully used Curaderm BEC 5 for several basal cell cancers - it's also used for squamous. I'm in Canada and got mine from www.vita-stream.com (great service). Here is more information from another site http://www.curaderm.net The tongue could be more challenging but I have tremendous faith in this product!

Vitamin c promotes apoptosis on oral squamous cell carcinoma...check article on PubMed by Zhou and his team. Fifteen years ago I healed myself by the Grace of God from basal cell carcinoma near my nose with vitamin c powder. Many blessings from Italy!!!

Oral health recovery.

My journey; this is not medical advice; but I have found that Wine and all alcohol beverages including tobacco (must) be avoided. Tooth brush, Speech; Food, water and unsweetened tea are safe; all other elements keep out. Several times a day put a dab of your favorite toothpaste on the tip of your finger. Next dip that tooth paste laced finger into some ground sage. This provides soothing relief. Coat the inside of your jaw and tongue with the paste. Take a tiny sip of water and swish this solution for a minute or so. Then spit but do not rinse. See “Amazon” buy some Galla Chinensis extract powder and use as an oral swish along with tooth paste as mentioned above. Cancer hates Gall Chinensis. Butchers broom powder as well as orris root powder help greatly when used in this manner too. PM bed time do the same routine but replace the ground sage with a “small” amount of ground clove. Swish around about a minute or so then spit but do not rinse. Cancer hates clove. Alternate clove by also using ground oregano. Yup clove & oregano clear up oral issues. Also alternate the above with ground thyme oral cancer hates it. You can also buy therapeutic grade thyme oil just mix a few drops with water as an oral rise it but it (must) be cold pressed (alcohol free) oil. See “Amazon” buy Bragg (nutritional yeast) sprinkle heavily on hot buttered toast. (Use real butter) Consume this yeast two times a day. Nutritional yeast fights cancer. Also, a great herbal paste is Perioscience Toothpaste AO pro (see amazon) this herbal paste contains ferulic acid; Ferulic acid is an agent used for oral & skin cancer treatment. “Boss essentials” on Amazon sells a quality brand Ferulic acid powder that can be mixed to your preference along with toothpaste and used as suggested above as an oral swish solution; as well as topically; I highly suggest green tea and or white tea cold brewed (non) sweetened to be used as an oral rinse through out the day and also consume several cups a day. Note: I suggest 5,000 iu of Vit D3 daily that also contains Vit K2. One other side note DMSO solution mixed with vit C powder and or any of the above herbal powders make a great topical application to dab on the affected area of the tongue. Spit the excess but do not rinse. DMSO is a safe carrier not to be feared that penetrates the skin immediately along with whatever it is mixed with. Yes, it taste like garlic but that is a small trade off for the potential result. I personally have used all of the above with great success. Remember you did not get sick overnight and you will not get well over night. Never limit God.
