Spitting Issue After Using a Water Flosser - Any Ideas Why?

Posted By Nicole (Australia) on 08/20/2021

I’ve been using a waterpik water flosser for a little while now and every time I use it, I end up spitting for up to 7 or 8 hours. During the time of spitting, I get a lot of phlegm in my throat as well. I’ve been using hydrogen peroxide in the waterpik but when I just used water, I would spit a lot as well. My mouth would just fill up with saliva constantly and I’d like to know what could be causing this?

Another thing to note is that when using the waterpik in the beginning, certain spots along the gums would produce a foul odour/taste when washing there. So far it has gone away but I’m not sure exactly what could be affecting my gums and if it is related to the spitting problem which I get every time I use the waterpik.

Why? Yes, you are detoxing your gums and they are responding. You could use any form of healthy salt or sugar or iodine or castor oil or silver or coconut oil. When I eat salt in the middle of the night, I wake up later with mucus. When I use castor oil it takes a few hours and then the spit and detox. Make sure you are drinking extra water while you detox, your body is working hard trying to help you. Blessings, Charity
