Son with Ulcerative Colitis

Posted By Irene (New York) on 01/01/2013

Dear Ted, My 18 yo son was diagnosed in MARCH 2011 with Ulcerative Colitis. He was in remission for 4 months on Chineese herbs and acupuncture, but due to a stress during his finals, started to flare. I came across with this site and was able to contact a person who was cured using Humic acid. I have ordered same and he started taking it since 12/20/12---1, 5-2 oz twice a day in a glass of water with some Aloe gel. He is also taking Asacol HD-4 tablets a day, VSL#3-twice a day, folic acid and Vit B complex. Vit D and E -oil capslules, as well as L-Glutamine. There are some some positive changes as far as consistency but still some not visible blood present , positive to the accutest. He is also taking another med for almost 2 years for another condition. I am wondering whether we should continue with this protocol. His chineese dr thinking we still should continue with chineese herbs. I will be also copying this email to your private email address hoping to get a faster reply. I really would like to discuss some details which are not preferable here. Thank you very much for your wisdom.

Hi Irene, I saw your post and although I would never doubt any advise from Ted, in addition to his advice, I thought you might also benefit by looking at this site: www.ldninfo.org

LDN is an FDA approved drug at 50 mg that has no side effects. It has been found to be very effective for many autoimmune diseases at a low dose of 3 - 4.5mg, including ulcerative colitis. Dr. Jill Smith has published trials at Penn State on it's successful use in treating Crohn's disease. I see so many people with bowel problems on the LDN Yahoo site benefit and often have complete resolution with LDN. It is inexpensive but must be taken daily, much like a vitamin pill. Best wishes.

Hello Irene, This is a folk remedy for UC. Drink Raw Egg early in the morning and don't drink or eat anything for next half an hour. The amino acids in the egg will rejuvenate the GI tract from mouth till rectum as it passes through the GI. Egg has almost all the nutrition except vitamin C. Take at least for 40 days. Prefer free run and grain fed hen eggs. Ordinary egg is also ok. Good Health

Dear All, Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will incorporate them in our protocol. I also would like to know where I can find Aloe oil or cinamon oil. I asked in many health food stores, but no one heard of such oils. Thanks again, Irene

In reply to Irene: In case the other previously mentioned remedies don't resolve the UC, the following abstract sounds very promising and easy to do: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22528757

Paleo diet. No grains, no pasta, no beans, no fatty meat, no refined sugar, no coffe, no tea. Lots fruit (except apples and pears, no go. Water, juice, fish, veges, valnuts etc, no peanuts(are actually beans). Anything that we, humans, can pick up from nature and eat. Some fruits are the result of ages of cultivation and human manipulation, like apples and pear. Oranges too, yet these do not ferment and only slightly irritate. No problem when healthy.

I left medication and I as long as I keep the diet, I am healthy. It is simply the diet of our ancestors, I.E. Gatherers. I honestly followed this diet, I fought CU back and though it is an issue of disciplin, the result is a healthy body. I won the fight!!!!!! Bye to drugs and CU
