Hi Mary,

From what I understand from a friend who similarly trains in jiu-jitsu, Staph and MRSA are very common in those studios. The best studios have stringent before and after wipe-down rules and ban athletes from training if they have any staph present. My friend has gotten staph a few times from a very popular place where many of the athletes were constantly getting MRSA and switched to another studio with stricter rules.

Please check out the Staph and MRSA pages on Earth Clinic for remedies. If this were me, I would start with turmeric supplementation immediately. Also, remember that these infections can recur when the immune system weakens. In that case, short-term colloidal silver might be helpful.
