Elderly Mother with Painful and Serious Skin InfectionPosted By Rialc (Ireland) on 08/04/2016
The doctor says its psoriasis & a fungal infection, more antibiotics prescribed.
Does anybody have any suggestions to help get relief for her, also what should she put on these pus filled areas?

1) Keep the areas clean and dry 24/7 by using natural soaps and water. 3X a day. Blow dry the area on low. (yes, we do this at work. It works)
2) Take strips of cotton linen and place in the folds of the groin and underneath the breasts. Place clean ones in these areas each time she is cleaned.
3) For healing, a thin layer of organic, unrefined coconut oil after each cleansing above.
4) Once the areas are healed, continue to keep the areas clean and dry because it will be occurring otherwise. Only use cotton underwear and bras - synthetics make it worse. If redness starts to occur in these areas, start the protocol again so that she will not have to go down the "pharma" route.
Beware of chronic use of antifungals and antibiotics - according to a university study, one course of antibiotics greatly diminishes our immune system for 6 months. Inspect her skin condition a couple times a week so this won't happen again.

I make a solution for it with milk of magnesia 1 cup and 1 or 2 tsp of hydrogen peroxide. The mag stops the yeast and the hydrogen peroxide oxygenates the skin to bring healing more quickly. This is the cleaning solution and the topical remedy itself.
If it is bleeding. We did use a organic diaper rash ointment from the health foodstore. That protected her in the beginning from the pain.
I finally just made a whole bottle of the Milk of Magnesia solution. In Ireland it might be called something different. But it is a white milky solution sold in drug stores to take for constipation. It is not sold as a topical treatment. It works for any topical application though.

We will definitely try magnesia & Hydrogen peroxide solution.
I just need to clarify my mother's infection is full of pus at this stage, do you think the above solution would be alright to use?
I feel we need to do something quickly as I would be afraid of the infection entering her blood stream.

If you are concerned about infection spreading to the blood, you could give your mother some turmeric internally. Turmeric fights infection and purifies the blood. It also may help with the pain and inflammation.
For an elderly person, I would use 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric 2-3 times a day. It can be mixed into yogurt or applesauce. It should be taken with plenty of water to avoid constipation. (If constipation is an issue, it must be address anyway. It is harder to heal from anything if constipation is an issue since your body is going to be slow to get rid of toxins if constipated.)
I hope she feels better soon!

Would you have any idea about how long it should take before we see any improvement when using coconut oil, as it is she is washed daily with natural products and uses all cotton underwear & nightwear.
Her pain/soreness is extremely bad at this time and the pus is severe also.
