Dear Earth Clinic, I had a bout of shingles. It affected my left eye. I have been diagnosed with 3rd nerve palsy, which does the following: 1. My left eyelid will not stay up, it falls down so the eye is shut. My ability to blink is gone. I can lift my eyelid with my finger but it falls again. 2. My left eye has lost some ability to focus. My 20/20 vision is gone in that eye. I am lucky to read the largest letters on the eye chart. 3. My left eye is not tracking with my right eye, so double vision when I lift up my eyelid. I am taking an antiviral and an anti-inflammatory. And two eye drops, again an anti-inflammatory and an iris lubricant. Might there be recommendations for natural treatments to assist my healing? The prognosis is 3 to 6 months or even a year and 100% recovery is less likely than more likely. It has been almost 2 months and my eye focus has improved a little, but the other two issues have not.
The only useful things I have found for shingles aftereffects is DMSO (5-10% with saline), ozonated glycerin (not for eye drops but systemically), and poke root.
