I'm so sorry. :( I have had a large keloid scar on my shoulder for 25 years. It itches and hurts and is so ugly. I always wear clothing to cover it - no tank tops or swim suits for me! I've tried all sorts of things over the years to try to fade or flatten it and what helps me is a clean diet and time in an infrared sauna. It will always be there, but bothers me less and doesn't seem to be as inflamed when I stick with diet and the sauna.
Also, I've been married for almost 20 yrs and my husband loves me even with my scar. I'm still self conscious about it but it really helps to have his love and acceptance. :)

Hi Mabz and Momma2boys, When I was growing up my mom was a fan of Adele Davis so she was a big believer of vitamin e for scars. But, many years ago I was introduced to MSM by my dad for joint/ body pain. This was long before anyone had really heard of MSM. It was miraculous to me and I would spread it around among my dance friends and students.
But, there was something else both my husband and I noticed. Over an extended period of time, a very noticeable scar, which I had from a foot operation many years before, became flat and much smaller. My husband, who had a very big one on his shoulder from a birthmark removal when he was a little boy, not only saw his get smaller but the itchiness disappeared. Back then they didn't make MSM cream so we were taking it internally. Now you can get MSM cream too so perhaps a two-pronged approach may do the trick. Hope this helps, Lisa
