This past year I was diagnosed as hypo-thyroid. I was able to convince my MD to prescribe natural thyroid as I refused to take the chemical t4 only one that he usually recommends. We have only one supplier of natural thyroid here in Canada but the plant where it is made is in Spain. I assumed the raw product would be European sourced. I just spoke with the company customer service rep and found out the raw product is from American pigs. Both Canada and the USA use ractopamine, a chemical used in the pig food, for ten to fourteen days, before slaughter to increase the weight of the pigs by aprox. ten percent. The glands retain this chemical. I believe this is why the natural thyroid meds no longer preform as they did in the past.
If anyone has found a natural thyroid med with the raw product sourced from Europe( ractopamine is banned there) could you please tell me what it is and how I can get it? The Dr. just upped my dose to 60mg and I am still gaining weight even after eliminating glutin and most goitrogen type foods, any I use are now steamed.
I have tried the VCO which helped somewhat but caused even more weight gain. If anyone can advise on where to obtain a clean source of NDT I am sure many folks would be eternally grateful. Me and my tractor driver do the same. Is there any way to get from there from here? I am beginning to think not. Anyways, if we elect Hillary, surely she will straighten at least the thyroid stuff out for her own sake.
Our best hope is that the Lord comes soon and takes us out of all this mess we have created.

Sorry to hear you are also dealing with hypo-thyroid. I did not mean to imply that Armour thyroid raw product is sourced from American pigs, although chances are that it is. Here in Canada it is erfa thyroid that I was referring to when I spoke of the ractopamine used to bump up the finishing weight of the pigs. I spoke to a Rep at erfa and asked if they have done any independent research on the raw product. The answer I got was that it is approved by the FDA, we all know what a bang up job those good ole boys do. All the more reason to worry I should think. When I spoke to the Rep, I asked her to check with the research dept. if they would consider checking for ractopamine in the raw product, but won't hold my breath waiting. Google ractopamine, it's an eye opening read. Hope Hillary checks it out. LOL Hope we can all get a handle on this hypo problem with a good NDT. Happy trails Robert Henry
