Remedies needed for extreme bad breath

Posted By Lucas (Nyc, Ny, Usa ) on 03/29/2011

Hello, I need help!!!! :)

I am suffering of fecal bad breath for about 13years. I have seen 10-15dentist, they all say I have healthy gum and nice teeth. They have done and redone some fillings through the years, I wash my teeth 3-4x a day, floss, scrape my tongue, mouthwash, I've excellent oral hygiene, just like most of the BB sufferers:)I went to a halitosis specialist, he treated me for Volatile Sulfur Compounds (VSC's), but unfortunately that wasn't the source of my bb. All it did dried my mouth so bad, that I was constantly drinking water, otherwise I never had dry mouth. Then I went to see a GI doc, she did Barium X-ray, Endoscopy, all they found was H pylori, which was treated with antibiotics but everything else was normal and negative. By the way the H pylori stool test came back negative, but I insisted the endoscopy and the doc saw mild inflammation on my stomach lining. I know a lot of ppl had positive results while on antibiotics or with the eradication of the H pylori not for me:( not even for 1 day.)

Then I had Paranasal Sinuses X ray... Came back negative, then saw an ENT doctor, who said evthg looks normal. I never had sinuses, tonsillitis, stones, ear or throat infection, he recommended to remove my glands, which I'm hesitating, since I never had problem with it. Neither any kind of problems with my stomach, other than I only have one bowel movement a day, sometimes I feel constipated, but I have at least 6 times a week, which doctors say considers normal. The only change while I was on antibiotics that I had 2x a day, I was shocked how much came out of me (sorry, not trying to disgust anyone, just maybe some of u had similar problems)
I eat very healthy, I'm 5'7 and 118lbs, I exercise, take vitamin, probiotics, digestive enzymes, drink a lot of water, no soda, don't smoke, drink socially. I tried to cut off sugar, yeasts, coffee, I tried for weeks, nothing has changed. The GI doc said I do not have candida overgrowth. I am so determined to find the source of my BB after all these years, I can't understand how my bfriend can handle me, he never tells me anthg other than did u fart once in couple of months, my friends neither, no one said anthg never, so I assume it can only be smelled from close, I can't smell it, only on the subway when I stand under the AC and blows this shitty smell right back on me (happened many times, so I know that's my smell :((((( And off course all the doctors said they don't smell anthg, expect the halitosis doc since the halimeter measured way above bad breath...
Anyhow the GI doc is giving up on me, saying I'm totally healthy, there are no other tests she could do. I am trying to convince her to do the intestinal bacterial overgrowth and food intolerance- even though I dont have any symptoms, no pain, or bloating... Can anyone recommend anything else? Shuold I have my glands removed? Sorry for the long post and thanks for any advice, tip, comment. Please ignore my mistakes, English is my 2nd language :)

Thanks again:)

Something that I have not seen mentioned when this topic comes up is the possibility of Ketosis. I would suggest Googling it. When your body is not taking in enough calories, you go into ketosis. One of the effects of ketosis is bad breath. I learned about it when I was doing Atkins, and yes you can smell it on your own breath. This does not come from a condition in your mouth. When you mentioned your height and weight, I just had to wonder if this is what is happening.

maybe try some fiber to get things moving? I take this stuff called super seed, I like it alot. I mix it with some psyllium to make it last a bit. i also have good results with a salt water cleanse/flush. good luck

thanks everyone, I've tried peroxide and salt water too, neither of them were helping. I googled Ketosis, I don't think that could be the cause, I eat properly, I never diet, only if I do cleanse (1x a yr) I am slim, but only because of my genes. I'm gonna try the fiber supplement... thanks..
