Hello Georgie, you may be having mites. The males live in the arms and females in the face and head.
Constant use of Neem Oil and showering daily as well as massaging the lumps with neem oil nightly as that's when they come out. They also don't like essential oils .
I don't know if they can ever be eliminated but they can be managed. It is important to boost the immune system and neem capsules internally will help. There are a lot of options but if they dry out the skin, it won't be of any use. I have had them for many years and they still bother my head, face and upper torso, especially the arms.
I have researched this for long but so far colloidal silver and MMS have made some impact.
