Polyp showed signs of carcinoma

Posted By Bahadur (Prerth, Western Australia) on 09/08/2012

My colonoscopy was done on 27 June, 2012 when a polyp showed signs of carcinoma, on 25 JUly2012 another colonoscopy was done, and and the polyp as well all surounding area cleaned up and area marked for future check up. I am told that I do not need an operation, as it is not necessary, and also because I am 81 yrs old. The check up will be done after 6 mts. I am prescribed Metamucel and Lactulos 3 times a day. Would also like to know if there are other suitable medicines.

Just a note re: Metamucil - I believe it contains artificial sweetener e. g. Aspartame which is detrimental to health. The main ingredient, Psyllium husk, can be bought cheaply in the Health section of Coles or Woolies. Lots of raw fruit and veg will assist greatly.
