Please suggest treatments for laryngopharyngeal reflux

Posted By Jackie (Connecticut, US) on 12/08/2014

I am looking for any advice at all for my condition. I know that I have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux/Silent Reflux, but I have seen 2 ENT's and 1 GI, spent +$1000 on procedures and appointments and still nothing. I was placed on one medication with no effect, have tried proton-pump inhibitors with no effect. I feel as though I have tried everything I can do myself also- natural treatments, alkaline drops, aloe, ACV, cutting out ALL acid out of my diet (because "balance" was ineffective).

The symptoms make daily life extremely difficult for me. There has not a day in two years that I have felt relief from it. My symptoms mostly consist of a constant feeling of globus in the back of my throat to the point I feel it is closing my throat, this leads to the constant throat clearing, wet voice, etc. It's really the globus sensation that I am unable to handle. I am extremely self conscious about the clearing associated with it as it is not as "silent" as I would like silent reflux to be... but there is nothing I can do. I would honestly say I spend at least 50% of my day thinking about it. Has anyone had similar issues?

I would do absolutely anything to get rid of this horrible condition...
