Pain From Green Salads

Posted By Lisa (Jax) on 08/31/2021

Recently I have gut pain every time I eat a green salad (stomach is fine). I take 1000 betaine HCL caps with each salad and another digestive enzyme with pepsin, bromelain, ginger etc. Any suggestions? Symptoms are just like mesenteric adenitis in that pain is near the naval. Had it years ago. Just wondering if anyone has any new ideas or information. Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

Yes, I also get pain there from time to time from eating a lot of green salad or consuming bulky foods, such as eating a lot of bread in one sitting.

You might look into the symptoms and remedies for a stuck ileocecal valve here: https://www.earthclinic.com/cures/ileocecal-valve.html

I find that massaging the area with my fist by digging into the painful spot and moving it (my fist) slowly to the left helps immensely and quickly. You could also put an airball on your stomach in that area and lay in it for a few minutes. A massage gun might also be helpful for no more than 10 seconds on the area.

Make sure to drink plenty of water afterward!

If massage didn't help, I'd dose up on Magnesium or Vitamin C to get things moving down there.
