Pain after taking betaine hcl pepsin for bile reflux

Had gall bladder out 4 years ago. I get pain along my abdomen after meals, radiating to the back. Was told to try enzymes, ox bile and lecithin to help with fat digestion, but was also told to try betaine/pepsin. Started with one 500mg capsule at each meal. When I got to dinner, I felt bad stomach pain, similar to my symptoms since my gall bldader surgery, only more intense. The pain started 5 minutes after finishing the meal. I was told to take enzymes either 45 minutes before the meal or 2-3 hrs after the meal. Do I really need betaine? Any suggestions for the other supplements I mentioned? Gastroenterologist told me I have bile reflux. Any suggestions for this?

Pat: This pain is like due to "acidosis" as a lack of bile flow. Try some alkalizing remedies posted in the "remedies" section at the top of web page.

Herbs like Artichoke, Yellowdock, Burdock, and Dandelion will also help get the bile out of a sluggish liver.
