On right side having trigeminal neuralgia

Posted By Partha (Chennai, India) on 01/01/2012

I am having the Trigeminal neuralgia on right side. I am suffering for the last ten years having attacks intermittantly. This time the attack is so severe that eating, drinking, shaving and taking shower is nearly impossible. Life is not worth living, I now feel. I am a 74 years old male. I closed down my lucrative business due to the attacks. I will be grateful to anyone who can help me overcome this.

I am so sorry for your pain. Please don't give up hope. Your life is important and you matter.

Although I was never diagnosed with your illness, I did have severe ongoing jaw pain, I believe from misalignment. I was taking aspirins around the clock. For another reason (scar tissue reduction), I began taking Serrapeptase (enteric coated capsules), 120,000 units on an empty stomach twice a day. Within two weeks after I started the Serrapeptase I realized my jaw pain had stopped completely! I tried stopping the Serrapetase several times, and the pain would gradually return. Eventually I did stop taking it, and now only once in a while will the pain return, and not as bad as it had.

God Bless You.

Dear Partha from India:

A year later I am answering you. so sorry. But I wonder why you haven't tried the Biogetica homeopathic remedy that comes from India. I have used it twice before and it helps better than the meds doctors prescribe. However, it takes about 2 months for it to kick in, so I would advise that you stay on your meds for 2 mths and then slowly taper down the meds. It has helped people even after failed MVD surgeries, so I know it could help you. However, with everything with TN, the pain comes back after about 6 mths, or so. So you must then find something in the interim, and then resume the meds. I wish the doctors at biogetica could answer why it takes 2 mths to kick in and then only lasts 6 mths.

I have found vitamin B12 shots to help too, for a longer period of time, but they are expensive.
