Nothing helps heavy painful periods

Hi there, I have been having menstrual problems for years now and I have not yet found anything that has worked for me. I was on the pill to stop menstruating and I was so happy but then decided to stop the pill because I wasn't sure what it was doing to my body. After I stopped the pill I had a lot of acne on my chest and hair grew on my face and increased all over my body (which I didn't have before) the acne went away but is still on my back and sometimes on my face.

I tried BSM unsulphured for a month but found it didn't help me at all. I then tried magnesium which made my period come late and that made my cramps worse and I ended up in hospital and was given strong pain killers because nothing else worked.

I have been to gynaecologists for years now and have done blood tests and ultrasounds and everything seems to be fine, nothing is wrong my body is normal.

Does anyone have any suggestions to why nothing is working or what I can take to help with the increase of hair and pain and bleeding? I do not want to go back on the pill but nothing else seems to be working.

So sorry to hear you suffer this way. When I was a teenager and early 20's I had painful periods. My mom would dose me heavy with calcium. Not sure how much or type but it worked. Take it all month and larger doses when you start having cramps. Calcium helps to relax muscles. You may also benefit from using a powdered magnesium/calcium supliment, fizzes up, comes in flavors now too. A very good read is a Book by Dr. John Lee, What Your Doctor Won't Tell you about Menopause/premenopause. Don't let the title scare you off. He details what the lack of progesterone can do to a woman, including heavy periods. I used one of the progesterone creams he recommended and it took care of my heavy periods. The cramps are also related to hormone imbalance.

Are you taking NSAIDs (advil e.g. ) for the pain? stop taking them and try herbal extract cramp bark. NSAIDs will make you pain much worse over time in addition to causing you stomach problems and possible damage to kidneys, liver, and leaky gut type issues.

otherwise it sounds like something to see a trustworthy gyn. about.

Nia, The following helped me...

1. Bringing Vitamin D-3 levels between 75-80.
2. Consuming high quality Cod liver oil twice daily. Find that which is processed minimally and cold-processed.
3. Consuming probiotic-rich foods like kefir, sauerkraut, kombucha on daily basis several times per day. Read more here at http://culturedfoodlife.com/category/kefir/
4. Consuming raw foods and raw veggie juices, especially before and during cycle, which reduced pain drastically, and reduced bleeding (if you are a heavy bleeder like me).
5. Rubbing lavendar essential oil and front and back solar plexus chakras during the cycle 2-3 times daily.

Hope this helps you, T

I used the castor oil soak over my lower abdomen over my ovaries for "rolling on the floor" kind of pain. I did it once a day for an hour but not during my periods. Pain free and after awhile I could not even tell my period was coming.

Sabita how would I take the castor oil, should I cook with it and apply it to the area of cramps?

EC: Check out this page for more information about how to apply a castor oil pack: https://www.earthclinic.com/remedies/castor_oil.html

Thank you so much I will try these remedies. I found out that I'm low on vitamin D but after taking the viatmin D supplement I found that it made me dizzy so I stopped and I think I will try anouther brand. Thank you so much ladies.
