Is it possible to tell between a staph or strep throat infection other than a culture? I seem to have symptoms of both. Way before the throat pain began I had 2-3 itchy minuscule boils on my skin, but that disappeared on its own.
Its been over three weeks, 9 day course of antibiotics, homeopathic meds. Homeopathy has worked for me in the last 4 years, this time its not working well enough. It seems to control the fever and the white spots but the throat pain and redness starts up all over again.
The main problem is tonsillitis but it also caused an eye infection which cleared up with antibiotic drops. I've been having some difficulty breathing, Then it got to my left ear, ruptured the eardrum. The ear has gotten better after 2 weeks with the homeopathic (i just read that sugar pills can aggravate) but now I have severe tonsillitis again and mild eye infection again.
Tried saline, fenugreek, garlic gargles. Honey pepper salt. Haven't tried cider vinegar thinking it will irritate the throat. I don't want to go back to the ENT. He looked a little perplexed. My homeopath is trying different meds but its taking too much time. Will try the baking soda today.

I have started using colloidal silver for my advanced strep throat infection, I came across it when everything else failed, was off work without a voice and a fever, and I was in danger of developing heart problems.
