Posted By Norman (Newcastle Staffordshire, United Kingdom) on 05/06/2012

Hi I am suffering from ideopathic pulmonary fibrosis and am 73 years old. I am 3 years since diagnosis and on oxygen 24 hours a day is there any medications or special diets or lifestyle routes that I can adapt to alleviate my condition and extend my life and diminish the sympstoms of my condition. Prior to diagnosis I was a fit and active and a non smoker are ther artificial lung replacements or other devices that may also be effective in abaiting my condition?

Thank you, Norman Porter

Norman, the herb Gotu Kola is recommended for IPF. Angiotensin 2 antagonist drugs (typically prescribed for Hypertension) reverse fibrosis (but I don't know if they are warranted for IPF).
