Seeking Natural Remedies for Paraganglioma Cysts

Posted By Tracy (Mi) on 01/10/2016

I have two paraganglioma cysts, one on each side of my neck. I am told it is too dangerous for surgery and radiation is my only option. They aren't growing really but do swell up from time to time and the right one is really big, going from up to my brain and down into my throat. it has pushed my tonsil to block part of my throat so its harder to swallow food. I have tried so many things to get rid of it, but so far nothing has helped. What home remedies or supplements can help this?

Dear Traci,

I would try castor oil and frankincense essential oil. Put one drop of each into your hand to mix together and massage into the cysts twice a day. (The castor oil drop will be a lot larger and that is fine.)

Also, 1,000 mg of Vitamin C 2-3 times a day, sodium ascorbate being the preferred form.

And 1 Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw, and organic) in a tall glass of water once or twice a day.

Those would be the first things I would try, as well as reading ideas on the wellness page.

There is an enzyme called serrapeptase that can get rid of cysts. It is available in capsule form. To break down the cyst it must be taken on an empty stomach or else it will just break down your food. You can take up to four doses per day.

I have been taking it for about eight weeks, and at only one dose per day my ganglion cyst is less than half its original size.

Serrapeptase has been used to treat a number of conditions, cysts being one of them, and appears to be safe. It is not very expensive so could be worth a try. If it works please post a follow-up!

I have tried all these with no success. I found out that the reason I have these is its in my DNA. I thought it was caused by the adrenal system, so I have no choice? I can't change my dna.

Hello, Tracy. I am a paraganglioma patient, also 5 more people in my family.

You know that the treatment is surgical, but when it is not possible, chemotherapy is used. The paraganglioma is not a cyst, but a tumor although not necessarily aggressive. That's why treatments for cysts may not work for you. One of the people in the family has used Temozolamide combined with propranolol with good results.

We have also used long pepper (piper longum), as an adjuvant. I hope this information helps you to share it with your doctor. You are not alone. We are many in this process.

A big hug. Good luck with your treatment

Thank you, Diana, but I have opted to not put those things in my body. No chemo, they told me they weren't used to having a young person with this and that radiation was my only option but that it would GIVE me actual cancer which would kill me. So nope, not doing that. Right now I am trying acupuncture.
