Need Help for Rash From Allergic Reaction

Allergic Rashes (Very Bad)

Allergic Reactions to something used mostly in Bleach, I.e. Tide worst enemy, Ivory Toilet Cleaner, Garden Weed Killer.

I tried the poultice with Wheat Germ, Water and Charcoal Powder I got on Earth Clinic. I also used Alluminium Foil from the Dollar Store. The foil started with rash wrapping food for Christmas. This time it is the worst from towels washed in Tide hug in the garage, the wind carried the scent to the inside of car, all on the Drivers wheel and safety belt and seat. This time around it is so bad.

it would come back on the skin using the car. I cleaned the car thoroughly, but the scent remains, so I cleaned again like 3 times. Now the rash is all over the hand, fingers back front sides, palm of hands, at the back, thumbs wrist and hands from resting it on the wheel and hand rest which is near to the elbow. I cannot seem to get rid of it, so someone told me to try Aloe and sea salt and rub so the itch will go away. I used Food peroxide 35% with normal peroxide from the Pharmacy, this stops the itch but the skin remains white in the pores, but the hand getting it come on so many times, the skin is so dry and scaly and rough. It hurts immensely using the peroxide, but it is the only way to stop the itch. I need to find out what would heal the skin as it is blistered from the scratching with blemishes on the hand.

Earth Clinic, what can you advise me to use for it. It is in the ear outer ear front and back, chest, between the shoulder and upper arm in front neck, and breast.

It is painful. The Dr. whom I go to has put me on Dupixent and he gives me a double dosage for the itch when it is bad. I cannot get it under control and would like to know what to use for the skin to get it better than how it is now. It is so bad this time and I do not know what to do. However I will be using the Aloe and sea salt to stop itch for the time.

Hi Hyacinth,

You and your husband sound very fortunate to have each other!

What I have found to often be useful for rashes of unknown origin is a very simple spray that I make for myself at home. Use Boric Acid (BA) powder which is available on Amazon, such as this among many others :

https://www.amazon.com/Boric-Granular-Powder-Create-solution/dp/B014JJ9846/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3DBUUSDK5GDSN&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.GdsVEwKSplbmoOnqPGtXxnEiigLKnXbGOQJGeEOoZmNEVBZW3sgys4xF113JsdsdZiiFGq1QtNbIjBDpIx9QF49WnLztQfltk3HOovWa3xRjmE2hkqAZOTBrkrsdRpAHn6sOw6RO-l_OxOph30_lanuBx8PAIkk5yKsDekTlg2TBonQ4tg0CjQtY-oyXsrBnvIcTeIM8whmJWI49UM9F2epH2BckmK7BDSITRUWZBp0._jJujtstIO4fwX09DAlGhncTLu1J0xiBMm8Fzsl2At8&dib_tag=se&keywords=boric+acid+powder&qid=1737688564&sprefix=boric+acid+powder,aps,154&sr=8-5

For myself, I mix one level full baker's measuring tablespoon of BA in a 16 ounce bottle of filtered water. I shake the bottle until there is no more BA particles floating in the water. I then fill a two ounce spray bottle with this solution and spray affected areas and let air dry. My first time using this solution, I only applied it to roughly a one inch circle of the rash to see how I would react to it. I had no negative effects and the circle showed some improvement that day. with two applications.

The other thing I have found useful for the itching and for sleep is Diphenhydramine. I take one generic pill of Benadryl, which has the active component Diphenhydramine HCI, which is often used for the purpose of helping to control allergies. Walmart has this generic version of diphenhydramine :

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Dye-Free-Allergy-Relief-Medicine-25-mg-100ct-Tablets/379523462?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=2206&gclsrc=aw.ds&adid=22222222277379523462_161193766053_21214199653&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=697173827980&wl4=pla-2348450966064&wl5=9031574&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=379523462&veh=sem_LIA&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA7se8BhCAARIsAKnF3ryAJqCEvNwCEEZ4GddskJWHLFJbJIqaTOvAfIBFe7pbW7IOgUZXalMaAv-BEALw_wcB

I definitely try to limit my use of Diphenhydramine to only as long as I need it. As long as I don't have a bad reaction to BA solution, I continue to use it when needed.

These are two things that I have found useful for myself. Please let us know what you and your doctor find useful for the two of you.

Hy: Hot water will kill the itch for several hours. Do it as hot as you can stand without scalding. Showering, or sticking a hand under running hot water if you have it on hands.

Detergents and fabric softeners are the worst offenders. Scrub the residue off with natural soap (the kind made the old fashioned way). Then apply an ointment to keep the skin hydrated.

Switching to soy based detergents ("free and clear") often makes a huge difference. Good luck!
