Need Help for Extreme Breast PainPosted By Edith (Lisbon, Portugal) on 03/28/2016
Hi, I am 45, vegetarian with almost none dairy produces appart from butter. I used to have breast pain 1 week to 10 days before my menstruation. For the past months, just after ovulation, in the middle of my cycle, I start already to be in pain with a swollen chest. The pain is huge and uncomfortable not allowing me to run or exercising. It has a strong negative effect on my mood and self estime. Please any advises or treatment are welcome. The Apple Vinegar cure gave no results. I thank you for your attention.

I'm a male so can't speak to female cycles' relationship to this but lymph is common to all and men too should be aware of possible lymph accumulation. There are web sites that discuss the need to cleanse lymph tissues; chest as well as abdomen and legs. Fairly soft daily massage in a rolling motion to move the lymph contents along might help anyone who is experiencing possible buildup. I experienced this only a year ago when on my left chest wall developed a number of "knots" and a perceptive massage practitioner discovered some lymph buildup. The massage concentrated on cleansing out that possible lymph buildup. So my suggestion is to apply some self help by using massage and better, get a professional to help also. One other thing; make sure you are getting LOTS of water.

Cabbage is also helpful for swollen breasts and is a natural remedy for mastitis, which is a breast inflammation while lactating.
Take a couple of leaves from a cabbage plant, raw, and roll them under a rolling pin to bruise them a bit. They you put them inside the bra. You can change them as they wilt. The cool cabbage leaves may also be comforting.
At night, massaging the breasts with castor oil may also help lymph flow and with inflammation. A few drops of peppermint essential oil per teaspoon of castor oil is cooling as well.
Is your cycle normal for you at this time?
