Need Urgent Help for Friend Who Took Supplements Containing Poison Oak

Need Cure for Eating Poison Oak

My friend was nearly killed by an over the counter supplement very popular and strongly advertised by amazon. It was supposed to help him heal his sciatic nerve pain. It had poison oak in it sorry don't know the scientific name for it. He lost his vision from his left eye. Made some of his teeth turn rotten. He is now hallucinating. I looked everywhere for a cure but can not find one. Called the poison control center they had no cure. Everyone says go to the doctor or hospital. He wants something natural to help him out. Do any of you have any suggestions for him? thank you very much in advance

Hi Mary,

So sorry to hear about your friend. The remedy that comes immediately to mind is activated charcoal. Capsules, tablets or powder several times daily on an empty stomach until symptoms ease. You can find tablets and/or powder at most pharmacies. Or try Whole Foods or Amazon. Charcoal House is a very good brand... you can find it at CVS.

Mary, did your friend take a homeopathic remedy (such as one from Boiron, or another maker)? They are usually small white sugar pellets that contain the homeopathic dose. This is the only form of supplement / over the counter med that I know of that contains Rhus Toxicodendron (aka poison oak). If it was a homeopathic remedy, he can take Camphora 200 to stop the action of the Rhus Tox. Another antidote would be a strong peppermint. Peppermint essential oil or even a strong brewed tea of peppermint leaf.
