Need advice on remedies for arthritis

Posted By Browngirl (Bridgetown, Barbados) on 01/12/2012

I am new to this site but have found a lot of valuable information.

My question is for my mom who suffers badly from arthritis pain in her knees and ankles. She has had rheumatic fever twice in her late teens, also rheumatoid arthritis runs in the family. She also on medication for Gout and High Blood Pressure prescribed by her MD.

I need to know which remedy would be most effective for the pain, using the 1 tbsp of ACV with 1/8 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp of honey and 8 ozs of warm water or boron or MSM?

In your response kindly let me know how long after taking remedy would she find some relief.

If you're from the sugar cane producing area of the beautiful carribean.. Take note that your soils have been denuded of boron and the Arthritis rates are 20% of the population... Get your mom to start taking Boron... If you get mule team borax and wet your finger to the first knuckle and put it into the powder, then swirl that in an 8 ounce glass of water that's about 9 milligrams of Boron when drunk per day which will do the trick. Israel's water supplies give that amount (9mgs) to each person and they have virtually nill arthritis.

Sorry Boron takes about a month at 15mgs to find some relief.. Might be worth checking all the other essential elements as well. If you google "Boron and Arthritis" you will get some interesting information.

Browngirl: A professional might answer your question correctly, but as an amateur I could only suggest begin your mom's journey slowly by using all the remedies you listed. Small amounts and once a day, then increase. The Boron I wouldn't do daily for extended time.

Also, if she doesn't take any kind of nutritional supplement, begin w/ a very good whole food multivitamin/mineral so the body can begin detox & healing.

Next on the list --- eat lots of Pineapple and Turmeric for inflammation. Take Flax or Fish oil for inflammation. Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Chicken Cartilage are good for rebuilding joints; Vit-C and Manganese helps stabilize.

Hope this helps.

Cured my Arthritis 36 years ago. I cut out ALL night-shade family foods from my diet.

White potatoes (yams are a different family), tomatos, jicama, Pepper (Peppercorns are a different family, eggplant, Chili, paparika.)

It takes 6 weeks to tell if this works for you. It has worked on myself and all but one person who has tried it at my suggestion.

Please be aware that, even in France, they sometimes add Potato, flour or starch to bread. Also potato in some form is in Almost ALL prepared, Store bought, Soup.

OMG! Thank you jj!

I know that the nightshade family of foods bothers me... but I can get away with eating a bit of potato or a pepper here and there....

I have been feeling like TOTAL CRAP for this past week - aching muscles / joints... The works. I thought is was a fibromyalgia flare up as I could not pin it to my diet and I have been taking my usual vitamins, etc.

Until your post!

I ate homemade chili all week! Chock full of chili powder, tomatoes, and picante sauce. DUH! I cannot believe I didn't even make the connection, it has been so long since I went so overboard eating a single food... Wow.

Thanks much. Now at least I know I will feel human again when I get all of the residual nightshade crud out of my body. lol.

It is odd - it seems that the things that make me sickest are the things that I crave the most. Must be the histamine "rush". sigh.

Thanks again for your post! I really, really appreciated reading it!

Carly :)

Have your Mom go to a Chiropractor or Nutritional Dr. who will give her Prolozone Injections for her Arthritis. She will never need a hip or knee replacement with the Prolozone Injection.

Wait you said that you do not boil teas anymore, how do you prepare the teas now? So try the teas or vegetable juice. Please I'm desperate. Thank You.
