Natural Remedies Needed for Son With High Bilirubin Levels

Posted By Sara (Colton, California) on 01/11/2016

I am so sorry to hear about Ted's medical condition. I pray that he has a fast recovery

I am writing to you because my son who is 17 years old has yellowish eyes and I took him to the Dr which did some blood work and found that he had high bilirubin he ordered an ultrasound of his liver, kidneys and gall bladder which they said there was no mass or stones so now they made an appointment to see a gastroenterologist and to have a catscan which I'm still waiting for that appointment.

So in the meantime, is there any natural cures I can get him started to bring down the bilirubin levels? His eyes are the only ones that are yellowish. His skin color looks normal please send me any advice thank you

Sara, sunlight and/or lemon juice bring down the bilirubin. That's why they put newborns under a "bili light" to simulate sunlight.

Dear Sara,

In addition to Mmsg's wonderful suggestions, you might try some dandelion tea for him. (You should be able to find it at the health food store.) Also, castor oil packs over the liver.
