Seeking Natural Remedies for Ruptured Eardrum

Posted By Ann (Usa) on 09/08/2015

Went to the doctor today to have my ear checked and found out it had ruptured. (severe pain and blood discharge). This happened after I had put some hydrogen peroxide in ( a few drops from an eye dropper) to clean my ear, I have done this many times before with no problem. What can I do to heal it naturally-i have been prescribed anti biotic to put in the ear. I would rather not do that (yet).

Bill or Mama to Many or anyone else who has dealt with a eardrum rupture, I would like to know what I can do. Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you.

Hi Ann,

I've had a fractured skull and ruptured eardrums. While I was in a coma, I don't know if anything was given to me for them, then. I was told I had been bleeding out of my ears.

Ginger is reported to reduce inflammation and also an antibiotic. It has many other listed benefits in my Nutrition Almanac. Perhaps 1/4 tsp. of ginger in about 4-6 oz. of warm water several times a day could substitute for the antibiotic prescribed. Maybe MtM has more advice about this.

I have found 1 /2 tsp. of turmeric in about 4-6 oz. of warm water helps me hear better. It also reduces inflammation. Ingesting MSG or any hidden sources can cause inflammation will affect your hearing. I learned that after many years. I hope this will help you.

This was being prepared last night when a storm suddenly arrived and I turned off the computer before I finished.

Dear Ann,

My husband had an eardrum rupture a few years ago. (So painful!! ) He went ahead and used the drops from the doctor - we weren't too concerned about it causing trouble since the antibiotic was being used locally instead of internally.

I wish I had a "tried and true" natural solution for an eardrum rupture. Colloidal Silver is something I would consider, but have no experience with it for a ruptured eardrum, though we have used it in the ears for infections.

Dear Ann,

If the drops are in the fluoroquinolones family such as cipro leviquin, pls try to avoid these as the side effects are terrible. You can ask Dr. for an older antibiotic.

If I had this I would apply a drop or two of magnesium oil behind my ear, several times. maybe three times an hour. Magnesium oil can be a little stingy to skin so I apply a thin layer of castor oil first once every three applications. It is a two fold help as castor oil allows the body to "see" infections and injuries and magnesium oil heals structure.

I would sleep with a cool mist humidifier with 2 or 3% hydrogen peroxide in it and 97% distilled or spring water.

I would take Ted's lysine remedy 4 hourly doses in am. I make all 4 in a glass jar ahead and set a timer 1/4 tsp l lysine 1/2 tsp sodium ascorbate Vitamin c or ascorbic acid reacted with a pinch of baking soda which is sodium ascorbate 4 doses in the bottle with 1/2 glass of water for each I add 2 plain aspirin to kill any virus and bacteria that may have gotten in there.

If you have methyline blue or you can buy online or at aquarium shop make mixture according to direction then in dropper bottle add 1% of that mix to 99% water I put 2 or three droppers in my remedy bottle.

The other simple remedy you can add is hyaluronic acid 3x a day as it rebuilds bone and structure in body and kills pain. This is how we are treating my mom's ears. All safe, nothing directly in ear.

Janet
