Natural Cure for a Stuffy Nose?

Posted By Sp (Gc, Ci) on 08/27/2012

I have a stuffy nose for nearly 10 days now. During the day it is bearable (and doesn't bother me at all), but during the nights it is so bad that I had trouble sleeping at all or I have to breath through my mouth to sleep. Does anyone know of a home remedy to get rid of it. I am reluctant to use nasal drops. Thanks.

I have suffered from chronically blocked sinuses all my life (and I get hayfever to boot! ).

I have recently started taking about 1 tsp of powdered turmeric with a tiny pinch of black pepper, plus as much cayenne pepper as I can handle (about 1.5 tsp is as much as I can bare). Stir this up in a small amount of water and drink it quickly.

I would recommend you have some milk or yoghurt on hand if you are going to take a whole lot of cayenne, just in case the heat is too much for you.

You should find your stuffy nose will open up quite quickly from the cayenne pepper, and the turmeric and black pepper will help reduce the over all swelling and histamine reaction in your upper respiratory tract.

Good luck :)
