Can High-Dose Nattokinase Heal a Chronic Cough?

Posted By Hollyhock (America ) on 03/05/2024

I have a cough that hasn't calmed down since covid a year and a half ago. I take a lot of supplements and some are supposed to be beneficial to the lungs I believe. Such as NAC, nettles, vit C, zinc, nattokinase, etc. I guess what I am wondering is does natto (which goes after fibrin), repair the lungs? I am so tired of coughing, it wears me out! I am taking nattokinase 8000FU per day and trying to work up to 10,000.

Hi Hollyhock,

For long term chronic cough, I have had the best results with high dose melatonin. Based on studies it most likely works by reducing inflammation, oxidative stress and importantly to the lungs, it reduces the inflammatory mediator NLRP3 inflammasome.
