My 6 yr old needs help with enamel hypoplasia

Posted By Helen ( New Zealand) on 12/05/2014

Looking for healthy alternative for treatment for 6 year old with teeth with enamel hypoplasia.. Treatment of teeth with toothbrushes that release negative ions will definitely remineralize teeth...???

Please can you tell me what these products are and where to find them - and what improvement to expect and why? Also, are they the best treatment for reversing the problem as soon as possible this is a worry and we are wanting to get started on treatment

many thanks , Helen

Hi, I've heard that Black Walnut Tincture made from fresh green hulls, taken 3-4 times per day will regrow enamel. Check the enamel thread here on EC for more info on this and to figure out proper dosage for her based on her body weight.

Another thing I would definitely add to her diet is horsetail powder - must be Equisetum Hymale species. Give her 1/2 tsp per day for 4-5 days, then take 2-3 days off, and resume again for 4-5 days, etc. Continue for as long as she needs.

Make sure she has plenty of fat soluable vitamins (other from supplements or fermented cod liver oil + butter oil) in her diet - vitamins D, A, K are very important for teeth and bone health.

I would also add in a Mag citrate or Mag glycinate supplement since many are deficient in this mineral. 1/4 tsp once or twice per day.
I've read that people have had success using eggshell powder to reverse dental decay (rich in calcium and strontium... do an internet search for more info. on how to make and take).

Homemade bone broths can be helpful because they contain collagen and other nutrients that help build tooth/ bone.

Good luck!
