Muscle Tightness and Knots in Neck After Shoulder Surgery

Posted By Glmrgirl (Tn) on 07/13/2018

Can anyone tell me what to do about severely knotty, tight muscles? My muscles in my shoulder and neck are very tight and there are numerous knots. I am trying to go through cervical decompression for herniated discs in my neck but things just won't loosen up.

I had shoulder surgery (right shoulder) for a fully torn rotator where the tendon had separated. The neck issues are also on the right side but the knots are on both sides of my neck. My range of motion hasn't come back yet even after therapy and I can't reach behind my back with my right arm. My muscles are extremely tight and bound up. I need help trying to find something that might help loosen the muscle tightness.

Anyone else been through this or have this issue?

Magnesium oil in a small spray bottle and ice packs should help to reduce inflammation and relax the muscles that are tight. An epsom salt bath or two should also be helpful.
