Medications Causing TachycardiaPosted By Anonymous (San Diego, California, US) on 11/27/2009
I have adrenal fatigue and insulin resistance, (which I found out just recently after going to doctors for the last 8 years and $25,000 in medical expense and that is with health insurance). I have tried taking metformin for my insulin resistance which worked great, but after some weeks I experienced lactic acidosis. So sadly I had to stop it. Months later, I had a different doctor, she placed me on (levothyroxine) thyroid medication T4 then later on T3, again same thing, it worked for 2 months, but soon after my heart started racing, difficulty breathing in the morning, etc.,. Doctor switched dosage 4 times and medication brand twice, but still side effects remained. I was having racing heart and severe heavy bleeding during my cycle due to fibroid, but when I stopped medications side effect disappeared. Except, I did not want to stop the thyroid meds because it helped me namely with my constipation, fibromyalgia, coldness, fatigue/exhaustion and etc., In addition, later on I found out that I was grinding my teeth at night, even when I am off the meds, which I am told that the grinding teeth is due to adrenal exhaustion.
So I had to stopped all my medications and I am feeling really bad. I started taking thyroid and raw adrenal supplements to aid my fatigueless and brain frog, but the supplements makes my heart race or difficulty breathing.
For example, because of my situation I cannot run on the treadmill or hike because when I do, the chest discomfort comes back. So this is my question, I have seeing all the specialties, sub-specialties, endocrinologist, cardiologist, neurologists and etc., all the tests came back normal. But in the end they could not fix my problems, why am I unable to take these medication/ supplements without my heart racing. Also I read somewhere, and it said that some people, when they take medications the body creates toxin / lactose acid, what is your take on that, and is there something I can take?
By the way I have no appetite, and never did all the 34 years of my life and as a result I hardly ate. Is there something for the lack of appetite?
Also, I am part French and can not drink wine at all, not even for celebration because the day after for 2 days, I am sick and bed ridden. I am told that this is because of my adrenal fatigue. Will I be able to drink as least 1 glass of wine for my wedding day if I am able to get my adrenal or heat racing problem under control?
