MAN W/ PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND SCHIZOPHRENIA

Posted By Dan (San Clemente, Ca) on 12/30/2012

Hello Ted, Can you help? My brother is 60 and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and Parkinson's disease. He is gentle and a chess player. I read that methylene blue can help with the Parkinson's but may have bad effects with the medications for schizophrenia. Can you recommend any help or protocol with supplements etc... for both of those chanllenges? Thank you.

In reply to, Dan from San Clemente, Ca, while you're waiting for Ted's reply, you might want to do a little research on LDN which some people have found useful for Parkinson's as well as many other health conditions.

Scroll down the page to "Parkinson's Disease" for a brief description.

There are many many websites that discuss LDN and specific diseases and the following one happens to mention both Parkinson's Disease as well as Schizophrenia: http://www.fiikus.net/?ldn

Another consideration to help deal with a common co-condition, of osteoporosis, is making sure that his vitamin d serum level (25OH D level) is well within the 30ng/ml-100ng/ml range. The actual serum level is likely more important than the size of the dose as some people simply require more vitamin d to achieve a specific serum level.

Vitamin d may also have an association with schizophrenia: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22796576

Another consideration might be melatonin: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22527998

Best wishes. Art
