Losing hair since my periods started years ago

Posted By Aditi (Bangkok, Thailand) on 10/10/2014

Hi, I have been losing hair since my periods started. I am almost bald from front and the baldness is now covering the whole scalp. I have tried using mindoxil 2% and 5% but they work till the time I apply them once I stop using it the hairfall resumes. Can you help me out with this. My age now is 29 years.

Dear Aditi,

After reading about how the drug works (that has helped you in the past) it appears to open up the blood vessels and also allow potassium to get through. Cayenne Pepper, taken internally, may have a similar effect.

Low thyroid can cause hair loss. In that case, the Thyroid Protocol may be helpful to you.

Nettle Root has been helpful to some women with female pattern baldness.

I would also consider using the following on your scalp:

  • 1 Tablespoon Castor Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 10 drops of peppermint essential oil

Mix together and gently massage into the scalp/hair roots. Cover with a towel for an hour. Gently wash hair and scalp. Repeat weekly.

I would look for a shampoo without SLS in it.

I am wondering if you have any other health problems? Sometimes a certain deficiency will cause several problems. Knowing the problems can narrow down the deficiency.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

Thanks for replying, I had done many tests in the past and no thyroid was detected. Do you have a clinic in Bangkok? If yes do let me know I would like to visit the same. Many thanks for the remedies!! Aditi

Hi Mama,

I have not heard yet after my earlier post. Can you please reply if you have a clinic in Bangkok, also can you tell me which are the tests I should go to find out the reason for hair loss.

Dear Aditi,

I am sorry I have not responded. I was out of town for a few days last week and must have missed your post.

Earth Clinic does not have any physical clinics--it is all online with mostly laypeople sharing their experiences.

If you have had many tests in the past and nothing has been detected, then it might be that you would just want to try different natural remedies and see if one will work for you. I have found many solutions to health problems this way. Sometimes the first thing I try works. Sometimes it takes lots of trial and error.

Anyway, if I were in your situation, I would try the things I mentioned in my last post and see if you notice any improvement. For the record, I am not a health professional. Just a mom who loves natural remedies and helping others.

Let us know how it goes!

Dear Aditi, Like " Mama to many" stated: There are many things that might help with this baldness or hair thinning issue. One of those things is BHT [ buylated hydroxytoluene ]. BHT is a proven anti-oxidant and free radical scavenger. That is why it is used as and approved by the FDA as a food preservative. Foods treated with BHT maintain their freshness much longer than foods not containing BHT as an additive.

I ran a BHT CURES GROUP for about 2 years or more off and on. I no longer do that because of threats from one of the groups members. He threatened to sue me because of some muscle cramps between his shoulder blades he claimed were caused by BHT.

Anyway, I had developed a bald spot about 2 to 3 inches across on the top of my head in the usual area when I was in my mid-forties. Once I began using BHT to treat a hepatitis C infection that bald spot disappeared in about 2 months. I am over 65 years old now and that bald spot is still gone. Also a female member of that BHT group stated her problem with thinning hair also cleared up while using BHT. The dosage I recommend is 250mg to 350mg per day or less if adverse reactions or side effects occur. It is worth mentioning that numerous BHT group members reported very noticeable improvements in skin, fingernail, and tissues about the teeth called gum tissues.

So, in conclusion, I do think BHT is at least worth a try as a baldness treatment....Oscar
